My partner and I are a couple of Kiwis who live in the beautiful Bay of Plenty on the east coast of the North Island in Aotearoa (New Zealand). We love NZ but also have a passion for travelling. Since meeting, 26 years ago, that passion has taken us to many countries and even the South Island!
In 2014 we took a long trip through France, in a campervan, and I was designated as the diary keeper. Hence this travel blog was born, as a connection to home and a record of our trip. Over the years it’s become invaluable, not just as a reminder of our trip but also as a reference point, to show friends and acquaintances when describing a place or experiences that we had. Hopefully it has also served as a useful guide for other travellers who are planning a trip.
It’s now 2026 and we’re about to start a 6-week campervan tour of Italy. Along with the freedom that a van provides, there’s also the adventure and trepidation of navigating the unknown. With minimal planning we’ll set out on a route of discovery and will try to share our experiences with you through these pages.
We hope you enjoy the blog and would love to get feedback and any suggestions you have for places to visit along the way. If you want email updates, when new posts are made, just enter your email address into “Follow Blog via Email” section at the side, or bottom, of any page and press FOLLOW.
Happy reading!
Steve
